You are the most important person on the boat. You act as the captain’s eyes.
The captain will steer the boat expertly, and in the most enjoyable way possible, based on where YOU are looking. The captain wants the best for you, but gives you complete freedom to tell him what is best for you based on your choices. You make your choices based on where you look (your conscious focus).
If you climb the mast and keep your eyes on something beautiful on the horizon, you give the captain lots of time and leeway to give you a gorgeous ride to your awesome destination.
But if you get nervous and start looking at the icebergs, the captain will assume that is where you want to go and steer you right into the icebergs.
If you lose focus and become mesmerized by where you are, good or bad, the captain will assume you want more of the same and steer you places that reflect more of the same or just turn you in circles.
If you lose focus and look behind you (the past), the captain, well, he can’t really steer the boat backwards, but will have to keep you as stationary as possible.
The captain takes your cue for how fast you want to go based on how consistent your gaze is, and how amped up you are when you look (amount of emotion, positive or negative).
It’s a pretty magical ocean you are sailing though. Every time you look at something, your captain compares what you focus on to what your loving heart sees when gazing in the same direction. The wonderful things your heart sees get added to the ocean (your heart only sees things in their full glory). The captain knows about the wonderful things and will definitely try to sail to them if your gaze allows. But the captain can only take you there when you focus on wonderfulness.
You are the looker, the director of your conscious focus, which shows the captain what direction to go. You can be connected to your heart when you look out on the waters, or you can be disconnected. Your gaze will be very different. When you are connected to your heart, you focus on things that feel wonderful, and the captain takes you wonderful places.
Your only job is to enjoy the ride, and direct the captain towards where you want to go next.
The captain is your personal navigator, gifted to you by the Ocean.
And who and what is the Ocean?
